Here’s our take on the camera features of the Alcatel Flash 2 –

Camera Hardware

The primary camera on the Alcatel Flash 2 is a 13 Megapixel ISOCELL sensor from Samsung that is designed to deliver better image quality by minimising crosstalk between neighbouring pixels and shows higher color fidelity even in poor lighting conditions. You also have phase-detection autofocus (under 0.3 seconds) and dual-LED flash which takes better pictures especially in low-light conditions. The front-facing camera is what most folks would love – a 5 Megapixel OmniVision sensor that has autofocus and also comes with a LED flash to make those selfies stand out even with difficult lighting conditions. Camera UI

The Alcatel Flash 2 may have a relatively simple UI but it sure does pack a host of features within – the rear camera lets you manually adjust the settings of the 13 Megapixels Samsung ISOCELL sensor to take the best shot possible, assuming you know what you’re doing with manual settings. There’s the 4x Digital zoom, HDR options, Smile detection and a host of modes like Panaroma mode, Multi Angle mode, Time-lapse mode (which is pretty cool), Live Photo Mode and PIP Mode. The front camera also has a host of features – in addition to Smile detection, you have something called V Gesture recognition, which basically identifies the peace sign and takes a picture which is a neat selfie trick! You also have Time-lapse mode (neat feature for a front-facing camera), a Beauty Mode to touch-up those pics, a front panaroma mode which makes for some really cool selfies and additional options like PIP mode, Live Photo mode.

Camera Performance

While some of us may have different opinions on the camera abilities of the Alcatel Flash 2, one would be quite satisfied with the features that it comes with, especially when you remember it costs INR 9,299. It certainly isn’t a top-of-the-line camera but with features like Time-lapse capture, Auto-focus, Panorama mode on both front and rear cameras in addition to their individual features, it’s definitely an interesting proposition!
