The Android 8.1 Oreo is just a slight upgrade over the previous version of Oreo. With this update, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are also getting the latest security update of March. The Android 8.1 Oreo update is rolling to the Nokia 5 in India and Indonesia, according to a report from Nokia Power User. HMD Global has confirmed about the new update on these two smartphones. The update is about 866MB on Nokia 5 and for Nokia 6, the update is 933.8MB.
The update package is only available to download using Wi-Fi connection and if you own one of the devices, you can check for the new update in Settings > System Updates. According to the changelog, there is not much changed on the user interface, all the changes have been done on the core level of the smartphones. The changelog has an optimized battery saving feature, the navigation buttons have some changes, the power menu has been revamped and now it shows battery percentage of the devices connected via Bluetooth. The core changes are – Neural Network API, Autofill framework feature, and SharedMemory API. Other than these, this update fixes the hamburger menu emoji with more bug fixes to the system.
