Foldable Design
The new Galaxy Z Flip features a horizontal folding display and Samsung calls it Infinity Flex display. This flexible display is covered by bendable Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) that can last for 2,00,000 folds. There is a 1.1-inch secondary Super AMOLED display on the outside which shows notifications.
Foldable Hinge
With the Galaxy Fold, Samsung faced many problems in the hinge only. This time the company has not repeated the same mistake and the Galaxy Z Flip uses the Hideaway Hinge mechanism. This Hideaway Hinge is more solid and strong and it can also open in any position because of its free stop folding tech. The hinge also uses “sweeper technology” to repel dirt and dust.
Flex Mode
Samsung has also collaborated with Google to offer a new Flex Mode UI in its OneUI 2.0 with Android 10. This dedicated ‘Flex mode’ splits apps in half and puts the controls on the bottom half and makes the top half into a viewing area. It also offers Multi-Active Window to drag-and-drop quickly used apps.
