There are several 7 inch tablets in market and this has reportedly marked a dent in Nexus 7 2013 sales. On the other hand, 8 inch tablets are still rare and will be more readily accepted. The Nexus 8 might also feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor which is expected to ship in high end smartphones by mid 2014. Up till now, Google has experimented with Nvidia Tegra and Snapdragon SoCs in its Nexus line of tablet and Qualcomm remains a strong contender.

The next generation Nexus tablet will also be manufactured by ASUS. As seen in the images, the tablet will have slim bezels and hopefully Google can provide the same dazzling quality as seen in Nexus 7 2013 display. It is still too early and more than 6 months remain in the official announcement, which is an extremely prolonged duration in the tech world. We expect to see many other leaks ahead of the official launch and for now, an 8 inch Nexus tablet seems a very interesting and logical proposition.
