5 Reasons to Buy

Performance

During our brief interaction, the very first thing about the phone that we liked the most was its performance. It is powered by a new Kirin 710F 12nm processor with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU which is further paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

The Kirin 710F is an upgraded version of Kirin 710 and it offers great performance in day to day usage. Moreover, the phone packs faster storage type and file transfer system which makes it more smooth in terms of multitasking.

If you play games like PUBG Mobile, you won’t feel any lag in the max settings. The phone is good in terms of hardware and performance, looking at its price.

Big Immersive Display

The next good thing on Honor 9X is its big immersive display panel. The phone sports a 6.59-inch Full HD+(2340 x 1080 pixels) curved glass display without any notch. This gives us an immersive experience while watching videos or playing movies.

The brightness levels and daylight visibility is also good.

Pop-up Camera

This is another plus point for the phone that it comes with a pop-up front camera design. This is basically the most affordable phone that comes with the rising selfie camera in this segment. The pop-up camera is also very durable and it automatically retracts when we force it or in case the phone falls.

Good Camera Performance

The phone sports a triple camera setup at the back. There is a 48MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor that offers good camera results. In the daylight photos, there are enough details and in the low light or night shots, the phone also excels very well.

There is a 16MP pop-up front camera with an f/2.2 aperture that also clicks good selfies that you can easily upload on social media. Let’s check out camera performance in some samples below.

Big Battery

The phone packs a big 4,000mAh battery which easily lasts for a day on normal usage. If you use the phone heavily like playing games, watching YouTube and surfing net continuously, it can still last till the end of the day which is a good thing.

2 Reasons Not to Buy

No Android 10

That one thing that we don’t like about the phone is that it still runs on Android 9 Pie with the company’s EMUI 9.1.1 on top. Honor should’ve given Android 10 with this phone as nowadays it has become very common to offer the latest software.

No Fast Charging

Despite packing a big battery, the phone doesn’t support fast charging. This could be a drawback for some users. However, via USB Type C port, the phone takes close to two hours to get a full charge.

Wrapping Up

With such amazing features like big immersive display without a notch, great performance with fast storage type and latest chipset, impressive camera results and good battery life, the Honor 9X becomes a likable phone in this segment. So, if fast charging and the latest software don’t matter much for you, you can go for Honor 9X.
