Camera and Internal Storage
The camera is not as important spec for most people while considering a tablet, as it isn’t as easy to click pictures with the large dimension form factor and manufacturer’s just don’t seem to be too much willing to bother. This tablet has a 2 MP camera at the back and a VGA camera at the front for video calling. The Internal Storage capacity is 4 GB which is a little disappointing. After preloaded apps and operating system less than 2 GB of it is expected to be available at the user end which is not as much considering the price tag.
Processor and Battery
The processor is MediaTek 1.2 GHz Dual core processor with PowerVR SGX531 ultra GPU which has a clock frequency of 500 MHz and will serve you pretty well while playing games and watching videos. However, many tablets like Domo Slate X3g 4th and Simmtronics XPad Mini will offer you with a Quad core processor at this price range. The RAM used is 1GB DDR3 which will provide with efficient multitasking. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh which is nothing to brag about. Seeing the specifications this seems slightly inadequate. Lava however claims that this will give you 5 hours of on screen time which is above average.
Display and Features
The Tablet comes with a 7 inch Display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, which is what we see in all budget tabs priced around 7,000 INR. This will give you pixel density of around 170 pixels per inches which won’t be vastly different to what quad core tablets like Xolo Tab and Micromax Canvas Tab P650 have to offer. The tablet comes with Dual SIM slot which is a must have specification for many users to run Apps like WhatsApp. The tablet supports 3G functionality and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly bean operating system which will give you good Android experience.
Looks and Connectivity
The Dimensions of the tablet are 194.0 mm X 120.5 mm X 10.8 mm and the body design seems quite elegant and well finished. The tablet has a silver metallic finish with white bezel. There is no hard button present on the front panel. The connectivity features are again pretty conventional and include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Comparison
The True rival of this tablet with Dual SIM slot and Cheaper price is Micromax Funbook Mini P410. Considering the price range other devices like Domo slate x3g 4th, upcoming Dell Venue 7 and HCL Me V3 Connect will compete with this tablet for market share.
Key Specs
Conclusion
The tablet has got a few things working for itself, but still, it does seem overpriced. If you really need to have Dual SIM slots, you can consider cheaper Micromax Funbook Mini P410. Nexus 7 first generation is now available for Rs. 9,999 and offers quad core processor but lacks 3G connectivity. You will have to root it even for 3G dongle support. You can however tether your Smartphones 3G connection to create a Hotspot while on the move.
