Speaking of the origin, the leaked patent is registered at the Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service. The handset seen in it features a subtly rectangular shape with infinitesimally small bezels.

The top of the phone houses two strips of secondary displays placed on either side of a circular earpiece. These will probably house some quick toggles and shortcuts. However, the thing we are calling the earpiece might as well turn out to be the front camera. In that case, LG may use a piezoelectric speaker like the Xiaomi Mix. A twitter user has already come up with a render based on the leaked patent. It not only gives us a glimpse of the front of the upcoming LG V30 or G7 but also provides an idea about the rear.

(Patent via: https://t.co/ujByA0d7Ri) pic.twitter.com/24gUca2eGe — Ben Geskin (@BenGeskin) May 19, 2017 Coming to the specifications, LG’s future flagship would certainly sport the Snapdragon 835 SoC. This may be mated with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM along with up to 128 GB of storage. Considering that LG doesn’t have a single SD 835 smartphone right now, the V30 or G7 will launch pretty soon. Needless to say, the upcoming smartphone from LG will come with Daydream VR support out of the box. The phone is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which might even be upgraded to Android O. This is all for now. Stay tuned for more information about the successor of LG G6.
