Key Specs
Display and Processor
Both phones include a 4.8 Inch Super AMOLED display with 720p HD resolution, layered with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. All slim phones include AMOLED panels, characterized with deep blacks and excellent contrast ratios, simply because they are thinner than IPS LCD counterparts. Micromax Canvas Sliver is powered by 64 bit Snapdragon 410 quad core CPU aided with 2 GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. On the other hand Gionee Elife S5.1 is powered by Octa-core 1.7 GHz MT6792, since it debuted late last year in a primarily 32 bit world. 2 GB RAM is likely to make Sliver 2 a better performer in practice over a period of extended usage. Besides, slim phones tend to heat more so Snapdragon 410 is a good deal if you are looking for a slim phone today.

Camera and Internal Storage
A unique trait of both of these devices is absence of camera bump, in spite of the slim design. To achieve this however, both have to compromise with an 8 MP rear camera sensor, instead of conventional 13 MP units available in this price range. Internal storage is 16 GB on both smartphone and none of the two offers MicroSD expansion, again to accommodate the slim and compact design. Among slim phones, only Vivo X5 Max managed to fit in a MicroSD card slot, but again its bigger 5.5 Inch display offers more room to play with.
Battery and Other Features
Battery capacity is again similar on both devices (2000 mAh VS 2050 mAh) and though this doesn’t feel like much, AMOLED display and power optimizations should offer 1 day usage for basic and moderate users. If you are deciding between the two, that must be because you are mesmerized by ultra slim phones. In this Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 is Slimmer (5.1 mm vs 5.2 mm) and lighter (97 grams vs 97.7 grams) thought not by a margin. Canvas Sliver is also running the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop flavor, while Elife S5.1 is stuck on Andorid KitKat. With Micromax Canvas Sliver 5, Micromax has guaranteed 7 day service time along with pick and drop facility for your phone, which will be a huge benefit. Additionally, Micromax Canvas Sliver also supports 4G.
Conclusion
Both phones are similar, but naturally Micromax Sliver is more up to date and should be a better buy in today’s market. But it is also more expensive, though we expect the price to slide as weeks go by.
