Micromax Evok Power Specifications

[table id=874 /]

Build Quality

As far as built is considered, Evok Power is supported by rubber at the edges which is aimed at giving a better grip and protection. As compared to other smartphones in the given range, the phone has been majorly compromised over sensors as there are only Accelerometer, Light sensor and Proximity sensor. Moreover when we did the fps test the performance could have been better to give a better gaming experience.

Physical Overview

Micromax Evok Power is a decently designed phone with 5 inch Full HD Display with Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection. It comes with 720×1280 resolution.

Just above the display on the front upper side is the earphone. To the left of it is the 5MP front shooter camera.

At the footer of the display are the navigation buttons placed.

On the back side, Micromax Evok Power is having a metal built with 8MP rear camera shooter. Below that is the LED flash. Just below that comes the finger print sensor. At the bottom side, loud speaker of the phone is positioned. If it would have been placed at the lower edge, it would have made more impact as now when the device is kept on any surface sound quality will be compromised.

As mentioned earlier in the build quality that the edges are protected by rubber hence it adds durability to the device. But there is a huge compromise over the looks.

Hardware

Camera quality is also satisfactory, not giving any wow experience as compared to the same segment phone Coolpad Note 5 lite. Auto focus takes a bit more time. The only feature which makes Evok Power at par is the battery as it is powered by 4000 mAh battery.

Benchmark Scores

When we had a word with Mr. Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax on the launch he said, ”Evok Series is primarily aimed at online market only. To experience the phone, Micromax Brand Stores may have Evok in the coming time, but the phones will be available only online. He further added that Evok series has been developed based on the requirements of the Indian customers.” This makes the long term strategic partnership more important between Micromax and Flipkart. Also Mr. Ajay Veer Yadav, Vice President Mobiles, Flipkart said, “Mid Value smartphones’ market share was approximately 55% over Oct, Nov and Dec QTR and hence this Evok series is going to play an important role into this segment. Further he added that Evok  series has been developed majorly on the customer insights. He also stressed on the fact that right now there is an idea of Make For India whereas this is the first step towards “Designed for India”.

Conclusion

Micromax and Flipkart have together put huge efforts in making a phone as per the needs and demands of the Indian buyer. That said, the Evok Power could have been better in terms of looks, camera, screen resolution and processor. In the same price segment one has better options with a better build quality and looks along with better camera and processor – the Redmi 3S, for example. On the whole a decent phone with a good battery power and average features.
