Camera and Internal Storage
Camera hardware and software is perhaps the most enticing part of Lumia 640XL. Th ephone features a 13 MP rear camera with a large 1/3 Inch sensor and wide f 2.0 aperture high end Zeiss lens on top. In our initial testing the camera performance was very good in day light and even in low light. You can also record good quality 1080p videos. Even more interesting is the camera software. There are numerous apps like Lumia Selfie, Cinemagraph, etc. for camera fun on Windows 8.1. The front 5 MP selfie camera with a wide angle lens will also appeal to selfie junkies. Internal storage is 8GB and there is option for 128 GB MicroSD card storage to keep everyone happy. Apps can be moved to SD card as well.

Processor and Battery
Lumia 640XL is using 1.2 Snapdragon 400 quad core processor (Moto G) with 1 GB RAM, which might seem unacceptable by Android standards in the price segment, but is good enough to drive Windows Phone OS. In our initial usage, switching between apps, browsing and even high end gaming has been smooth. The 3000 mAh battery is removable and offers impressive battery backup. Microsoft claims 936 hours of Maximum 3G Standby time and 23 Hours 40 minutes of talk time.
Display and Other Features
The 5.7 Inch display has 720p HD resolution amounting to 259 pixels per inches. There is no pixilation, but lack of full HD sharpness will be noticeable if you are accustomed to ppi busting displays. Lumia 640XL display is characterized with great colors and deep blacks. On the whole it’s a good quality display, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Lumia 640XL is running latest Windows Phone 8.1 OS and will receive Windows 10 update too. Other features include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. Lack of 4G LTE might be hard to digest for some users.
Comparison
Lumia 640XL will compete with Windows Phone devices like Lumia 1320, Lumia 640, Lumia 730 and Lumia 925 in India.
