The Motorola One Vision has been launched at a price of Rs. 19,999 in India. We have been using it since yesterday and here are our first impressions about it.
Motorola One Vision First Impressions
Design
Starting with the design first, the latest Motorola phone comes with a new punch-hole design. There is a hole in the display for the selfie camera, and it is bigger than we have seen on Samsung smartphones. The display also has an unusual 21:9 aspect ratio which we have already seen on a Sony smartphone.
The phone sports a premium glass back and has Gorilla Glass protection on both sides. We have the Bronze color model that comes with a subtle gradient and it looks different. There is a fingerprint sensor sitting the Motorola logo which is snappy.
The volume rockers and power button are within reach. The one thing that you might not like its thickness and it also feels quite bulky. Lastly, it comes with a splash-resistant coating on it.
Display
The One Vision sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (1080×2520 pixels) LCD screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio which the company calls CinemaVision display. The screen with this aspect ratio makes the video watching experience good.
It also helps to use the phone with one hand. It offers sharp colors and the brightness levels are also good. It has good viewing angles and outdoor visibility is also not bad.
Camera
Motorola One Vision sports a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor that has f/1.7 aperture lens. It is accompanied by a secondary 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
The camera clicks good pictures in daylight with rich colors and good details. The low light pictures are also good in normal mode but the night mode increases sharpness in pictures and offers better results than the normal mode.
The 25MP front camera clicks some really impressive selfies and also have the portrait mode as well. Check out some camera samples here.
Performance
If we talk about performance, Motorola used Samsung’s Exynos 9609 chipset in the One Vision. It is paired with Mali G72 MP3 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. The 10nm processor is snappy and it performs smoothly while switching between apps. I also played graphics intensive games like PUBG Mobile, Asphalt 9 and the chipset handled it without any lag. There is a little bit of heating issue though. Motorola One Vision comes with Google’s Android One program and runs the stock version of the Android 9 Pie. It also comes with 2 guaranteed OS updates. The UI is clean and there is hardly any bloatware.
Battery and Others
The handset packs a 3,500mAh battery with 15W Turbocharge fast charging support via USB Type-C. The fast charger takes around 2 hours to fully charge the battery. The battery lasts for a day with moderate usage.
The phone sports a single bottom firing speaker that also has Dolby Atmos support. The loudspeaker is clear and loud enough. It also has all the other usual connectivity options including the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Wrapping Up
In our initial testing, Motorola One Vision looks promising so far. It like the new design from Motorola, however, its thick build may not be liked by everyone. The punch-hole on the screen is also big that might also not be very impressive. The camera is decent and the performance is also smooth. Wait for our full review of the device for the final verdict.
