Camera and Internal Storage

The primary snapper has a 13 MP sensor that is a standard feature among the mid-rangers. The interesting aspect is that this camera is a swivel one that comes with auto focus, LED flash, HDR and 1080p video recording and it can capture videos at 24 MP ultra HD mode. The internal storage space of 16 GB is definitely sufficient to store all the content such as applications, default software and multimedia files. However, there is no micro SD card slot onboard to expand this storage space externally.

Processor and Battery

The processor used is 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset housing a quad-core Cortex A7 unit that is assisted by Adreno 305 graphics engine and 2 GB of RAM. This combination of hardware aspects will definitely make the device a better one in terms of performance with decent graphic rendering and multi-tasking capabilities. Battery capacity is 2,140 mAh that sounds acceptable on paper, but we need to analyze the real life performance of the Oppo N1 Mini smartphone to know the specific backup delivered by this battery.

Display and Other Features

The display is 5 inches in size and it is an IPS LCD panel that packs a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels resulting in a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. This display with good levels of viewing angles and color reproduction should be sufficient to handle those tasks required by smartphone users such as watching videos, playing intense games and others. Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the Oppo N1 Mini is topped with the firm’s ColorOS 1.4 UI. Also, there are connectivity features such as 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS with aGPS.

Comparison

The Oppo N1 Mini will definitely be a tough challenger to the devices such as Xiaomi Mi3, Gionee Elife E7 Mini, Micromax Canvas Elanza 2 A121 and Moto X.

Price and Conclusion

The Oppo N1 Mini is priced appropriately at Rs 26,990 for its specifications, thereby offering a decent value for the money paid. With a rotating camera, the handset will be highly suited for those users who are much focused on clicking selfies. The only aspect is that the device will find a tough competition from the other brands be it homegrown or global as there are many solid offerings with competitive price tags these days. We need to wait to see the response for the Oppo smartphone in the lucrative Indian market.
