The Oppo R1S features a 5 inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touch screen display packing a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and is stuffed with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8928 processor ticking at 1.6 GHz. Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS topped with the Color 1.2 ROM, the Oppo R1S incorporates 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage capacity that cannot be expanded. The lack of an expansion card slot is a downside, but considering the free cloud storage services available these days, it is not a major problem. The imaging requirements are met by the 13 MP primary camera paired with LED flash and a 5 MP secondary camera that enables making video calls and clicking selfies. There are highlights such as the 6 element f/2.0 aperture Sony IMX214 with FHD 1080p video recording capabilities. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3G and 4G LTE. Battery capacity is 2,140 mAh whose backup remains unknown. On the pricing and availability front, the Oppo R1S is available in two color options – White and Black and is priced at 2,498 yuan (approx. Rs 24,500). The handset can be pre-ordered from the official website starting from April 25, but there is no word on the global release date.
