Micromax A116 Canvas HD, launched in Feb this year, was one of the leading top selling devices in the market of Quad core device. After this device was launched, several other Indian Mobile brands like Karbonn, iball, Lava and several others have tried to compete with this device by launching their own Quad core processed mobile phones but the demand of Micromax 116 canvas HD is still at the high. But now with the launch of new Galaxy Grand Quattro from the international brand, the competition will become tough and hence today we are comparing the specs of these two devices to check if Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro can take on Micromax’s A116.

The new Galaxy Grand Quattro has a 4.7-inch TFT WVGA display where as Micromax Canvas HD A116 has a little bigger 5.0-inch LCD IPS display. A116 Canvas HD holds the upper hand in this category. It packs an impressive 8.0-megapixel rear-side camera with flash support and a 2.0-megapixel front-facing camera where as Galaxy Grand Quattro sports a 5.0-megapixel main camera with auto-focus and flash support and a 0.3-megapixel VGA camera on the front side. The Camera of Grand Quattro supports 720p HD video recording whereas the video recording capabilities of Micromax A116 is also 720p @30fps. The RAM of both the device is same which is 1GB but there is difference in the internal memory available. The Micromax’s A116 have 4GB of internal storage where as it is 8GB in case on Samsung Galaxy Grand Quadro. Both the devices have the MicroSD slot and you can expand the internal memory upto 32GB using the MicroSD memory card.
Battery and Feature
Samsung Quattro has a Li-Ion battery of 2100mAh which is little powerful when compared to 2000mAh Li-on battery of Micromax A116 Canvas and as Micromax has bigger display and a less powerful battery, the Samsung Quattro is expected to give better performance with battery. The other feature have a negligible difference.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD price has the price tag of Rs.13,999 (current price at Flipcart.com) and have seen some fluctuation with the demand whereas Samsung’s new smartphone is priced a little high for Rs.16,570 if we consider the current online price of Flipcart.com. So considering the overall feature comparison and Price tag, Indian made Micromax A116 Canvas HD seems still holding edge over the Samsung’s new quad-core smartphone Galaxy Grand Quattro.
