Design and Display
The Samsung Galaxy M20 comes with a polycarbonate unibody design which has a shiny finish on the back and the sides. The smartphone comes with an entirely new plan which we haven’t seen before. The smartphone is lightweight and feels sturdy too. Galaxy M20 comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back with the dual camera module. The smartphone holds all the right buttons and port at the right place including the USB type C port which is new in this price range. The type-C or even comes with fast charging enabled with its proprietary charger. The smartphone comes with a dedicated SIM card tray with capacity for two nano SIM cards and a micro SD card. The smartphone comes with an impressive display as well. It comes with a 6.3 inches FHD+ display with a so-called Infinity V display. Samsung has used a TFT panel instead of an LCD panel which gives it a better color accuracy and better brightness for better viewability outdoors in the sun.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy M20 comes with a dual camera set up at the back and a notch embedded selfie camera on the front. At the back, the smartphone includes a 13MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture size and a 5MP secondary sensor to capture ultra-wide pictures. The smartphone features an 8MP sensor on the front with f/2.0 aperture and HDR capabilities. The smartphone can capture some beautiful pictures with its ultra-wide camera. But when it comes to some specific features like capturing portraits with background blur, the smartphone starts to struggle a lot. There are no details in pictures and the color reproduction is not just great. The smartphone can record 1080p FHD videos at 30fps and can record slow-mo videos as well.
Performance and Software
Samsung has its own thing of putting its own Exynos chipsets on their Indian models. The smartphone comes with a new Exynos 7904 chipset with Mali GPU for better visuals. The Galaxy M20 features upto 4GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage with expansion option provided as well. The smartphone runs on Samsung Experience UI 9.5 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Samsung used a different kind of theme in this smartphone but being a fact that the UI is lightweight, the smartphone feels fast and snappy.
Lock Screen Stories
One of the things that will strike you as interesting while using the M20 is lockscreen stories, courtesy Glance. You get a beautiful image with useful information every time you unlock your phone. The information comes from different content categories, and you can choose the categories that interest you. You simply have to go to the Settings screen and tap on Follow categories. You can also add personal photos from your Gallery to beautify your lockscreen.
This is not an unexpected launch feature by Samsung, considering the presence of this lockscreen interface in Xiaomi models as well.
Battery and other features
The Galaxy M20 comes with a big 5,000mAh battery which will keep you connected for more than a day. And when exhausted, you can charge it quickly with its quick charging capabilities as well. The fingerprint sensor is fast enough, and if you are wondering, it comes with face unlock as well, and it is reasonably fast.
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy M20 is an excellent smartphone at this price with the brand name as well. The smartphone brings a beautiful screen, good camera and more importantly, fast charging with Type C which we haven’t seen on a smartphone with this price tag. If you are not a PUBG Mobile gamer at all, then this phone will serve you the best.
