Following Micromax and Lava, Spice has launched a smartphone dubbed Spice Stellar 509 priced at Rs 7,999. The handset is available for sale on popular e-commerce portal HomeShop18. The handset comes with a free flip cover featuring leather-like finish for added protection against scratches. Detailing on the specifications, the Spice Stellar 509 flaunts a 5 inch IPS LCD display with a standard screen resolution of 854×480 pixels and it is fueled by a quad-core processor ticking at 1.3 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM. Furthermore, the handset packs 4 GB of internal memory space that can be extended externally up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Disappointingly, the device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and it features an 8 MP primary camera at the back with LED flash and a 2 MP secondary front-facing shooter for making video calls and clicking seflies. On board are other aspects such as Wi-Fi, 3G, dual SIM functionality, GPS with A-GPS and a 2,000 mAh battery. Apart from these technical specifications, there is a slew of pre-loaded applications including Spice Cloud, Greetzap, OLX, Getit, Opera Mini and more. Apart from Moto E, Stellar 509 will compete against phones like Micromax Unite 2 and Lava Iris X1.
