Trick To Undo and Redo While Typing On iPhone
As noted, you can simply shake your iPhone while typing anything for the undo option to appear on the screen. However, it’s not very practical as it not only takes more effort but also looks weird in public. Also, a lot of apps use the gesture for other things, making it quite confusing. Instead, you can use the trick below to quickly undo and redo while typing on your iPhone. Also, read: [Tech Tip] Lock iPhone Screen With One App Working Only
Undo and Redo on iOS
All you need to do is swipe left using three fingers on the screen to undo the typing and swipe right with three fingers to redo, i.e., bring it back the text. As you do it, you’ll see a small toast notification at the top, saying “Undo” or “Redo” based on the gesture. So, if you wrote a long sentence and accidentally deleted it, there’s no need to type it all over again- just swipe right using three fingers. Or if you typed something wrong, simply swipe left to erase the unnecessary part, and you’re good to go. Alternatively, you can do a simple three-finger tap on your screen to toggle the floating menu with options to undo, redo, cut, copy, and paste. You can either select the text to perform operations or simply swipe left with the three fingers to erase the text to the point you drag it to. The same goes for the redo feature, which requires you to swipe right with all the three fingers. Also, read: Trick to Lock Apps on iPhone without any Third-Party App
Other Gestures
Additionally, there are some other gestures that you can use for making quick changes and actions while typing on your iPhone. For instance, pinching using two fingers will copy the selected text to the clipboard. Whereas, pinching it twice will cut it. To paste the text from your clipboard, pinch out using three fingers at the desired location. Also, read: How to Unlock Your iPhone While Wearing a Face Mask
