Design: The glory of Mi Mix 3
The design is really glory of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and it has a ceramic back panel. The back panel is shiny but it is prone to fingerprints. There is some plastic used at the edges of the phone to protect it from damages if it falls. The phone has a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio but still, there are thicker bezels at the bottom and slightly lesser at the top. The Mi Mix 3 comes in Onyx Black, Jade Green, and Sapphire Blue color options that all look cool. Overall, with full-screen slider design, Mi Mix 3 is truly a king of bezel-less phones.
Sliding Mechanism: How sturdy it is?
As mentioned above, there is a magnetic slider design and the front camera pops out via this magnetic slider mechanism. The slider is smooth but it requires a little amount of force to be opened. Also, the front camera takes almost 1 second to open after a clicky sound. The software is not responsive either. Apart from opening up camera, it also acts as a shortcut for many customize tasks. The set up is anyway sturdy and will work fine as long as you use it safely.
Display: How vibrant it is?
Up front, it has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio. It is an AMOLED panel so the colors and sharp and viewing angles are also good. Moreover, because of the FHD+ resolution, videos and pictures look good and vibrant on the panel. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
Cameras: How much depth they offer?
In the camera department, it has a dual rear camera set up. There is a 12MP primary Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 1.4µm pixels, and a 12MP secondary rear camera with Samsung S5K3M3+ sensor, 1.0 µm pixels, f/2.4 aperture. The primary camera supports optical zoom and secondary offers 2X zoom. The camera also supports 4-axis OIS. The rear camera’s pictures are good in detailing and it also focuses fast. The portrait mode offers good depth in bokeh shots.
There is a 24MP front camera with Sony IMX576 sensor and a 2MP secondary Depth of Field camera. The front camera also comes with selfie light and HDR which results in better selfies in all lighting conditions.
