Xiaomi has decided to go with an all-metal body this time and also sports a textured back with a cool ‘’stars in the night sky’’ design. On the front Xiaomi Redmi 3 features a 5 inch HD display and holds an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM, Adreno 405 GPU and 16 GB of inbuilt storage under the hood. The storage can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. One of the USP of this device is the juicy 4100 mAh battery packed wisely inside a sleek design. The Android version is still not revealed by the company but it will come with MIUI 7 installed on top of Android. On the camera front, it has a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF autofocus, f/2.2 aperture and also supports 1080p video recording. On the front, it sports a 5 MP camera with full HD video recording capability. It is a dual-SIM smartphone with hybrid SIM slot havingone mirco SIM slot, one nano SIM slot and a microSD card slot as well. At this price point, the Redmi 3 will compete with phones likes Meizu M2 note and Lenovo K4 Note. Both the phones revolve around the similar price bracket.
The Redmi 3 supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, GPRS/EDGE, micro-USB and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for connectivity.
